The vacation resort is owned by Las Vegas Sands in settlement Together with the Singaporean authorities. Marina Bay Sands was at first established to open up in 2009, but its construction faced delays due to escalating prices of material and labour shortages with the outset exacerbated through the 2007–2008 fiscal disaster.
